Christmas Ale 8.3%

(1 customer review)

In the great tradition of the famous Belgian Breweries, our own special Christmas Ale is now available.

This strong Belgian abbey styled ale is one of the brewery’s most highly awarded and requested. Deep orange in colour with a lasting creamy head. Spicy hop aroma from Hallertauer & Tettnanger hop flowers with a complex malty finish.

Brewed with almost religious fervour, with extra long maturation and dry hopped in serving tanks… this one will continue to develop for a long time to come.

“…Red Hill Christmas Ale have become regular festive releases for their respective craft breweries, each borrowing inspiration from the traditional Christmas pudding with hints of spice and dried fruit.  Murky copper-brown. Aroma: caramel, allspice, orange zest and pears. Palate: fairy floss mouthfeel, rich caramel notes with hints of cinnamon and orange, rounded off with firm bitterness and spicy after-taste. Overall: match with brandy-soaked pud”

“Christmas Lunch…. And what about the beer! Red Hill’s Christmas Ale of course. Imaginative tie-in? No, but it’s so delicious you won’t care.  Pop the champagne-shaped bottle to really mark the occasion.”

“Well the Christmas ales are a little thin on the ground this year. Oh well I’ll just stock up on this one. A Belgian style strong ale, it pours a murky orange colour with a dense fluffy white head. If memory serves me well, which it often doesn’t, the colour isn’t as dark as the 2008 version.Aromas are floral, grassy and spicy with citrus rind and toffee. This beer has  a nice mouthfeel and good crisp and balanced carbonation. It is  sweetly malted, candy-like initially, followed by some clove/anise hints, spice, spirity warmth and beautifully fresh spicy, chewing on an orange rind, hop finish that spreads to the side and back palate, loitering with intent. Dave, Karen and the crew are unstoppable right now, with each release showing great balance, structure and flavour.”

My family took me to your brewery for my birthday celebration. (Feb), feels like it was a year ago ( current environment).
Anyways, as a surprise parting gift a mixed 6pack was purchased, and I’m currently half-way through a “Christmas”. WOW, from my first sip. I have to have more. LOL .
Ive have many Trappist Dubbel styles over the years and your representation is EXCELLENT.
Thanks and keep brewing. Just remember to stand 1 & 1/2mtrs apart. Cheers
